51 questions

Reading and Writing

The Reading half covers comprehension, vocabulary in context, phonics, fluency. The Writing half covers grammar, sentence revision, source credibility. All three question types show up: standard multiple choice, the multi select where you pick exactly two of five, and the grammar question where you click the underlined error.

Do not get blindsided by Classroom Application questions

Roughly 1 in 3 questions on the new exam asks "As a paraprofessional, how would you help a student who...". These test teaching judgment, not content recall. They show up throughout every practice test on the site, so you are never caught off guard on exam day.

What you get

Built for paraeducators, not test prep companies

Every feature exists because of a real pain point: limited time, high stakes, math anxiety, and practice tests that do not match the new exam.

The actual calculator

I built the on screen calculator to match the ETS 5759 interface exactly, including the Transfer Display button that pastes results into numeric entry boxes. Exam day should not be the first time you use it.

Pass probability after every session

You see your odds of passing in the free demo, then a free account saves the trend over time. The site calculates it from your accuracy per category, weighted to match how each category shows up across the 87 questions on the real exam.

Weak area breakdown

After every session, the score card shows exactly which Reading, Writing, and Math categories cost you points. You study what matters, not everything.

Every question type you will see

Standard multiple choice with four options. Multi select where you pick exactly two of five (miss one and you lose the whole question). Numeric entry where you type the number. Grammar questions where you click the underlined error. All four show up in practice exactly like exam day.

An explanation after every question

Every question comes with a walk through of why the correct answer works and why the wrong ones do not. Written the way a teacher explains it, not the way an answer key writes it. You learn, not just check a score.

Why this site

Built from scratch for the new exam, not the retiring one

Most practice sites still sell prep for the old ParaPro test. ETS retires that test on September 1, 2026. We built this for the new ETS 5757 exam that replaces it, the one paraeducators actually face from now on.

01

Built for ParaPathways, not the old ParaPro

Most competitors still sell prep for the ParaPro Assessment (1755), which ETS retires on September 1, 2026. Paraeducators who prepare with those tools are drilling questions from an exam that no longer exists.

Why it matters: ParaPathways (ETS 5757) has different question formats, different scoring, and an on-screen calculator that ParaPro never had.
02

Pass probability without an account, no one else does this

Teachers Test Prep shows a likelihood of passing, but only after you finish a full test AND create an account. Here, you see your pass probability free, after every session, with no login.

Why it matters: Paraeducators with limited time need to know where they stand after every short session, not only after a 2.5 hour simulation.
03

Classroom Application questions built in, competitors do not have them

Roughly 1 in 3 questions on the new exam asks how you would handle a situation in a classroom, not what you know. Every competitor is still drilling the old ParaPro format and none of them include these.

Real test taker insight: "A lot of questions were about how you'd act as a paraprofessional. I wasn't prepared for that at all."
State requirements

Which states require this exam?

⚠️
ETS retires ParaPro (1755) on September 1, 2026. Every state requiring paraeducator certification has to switch to the new exam. No exceptions.

Common questions

Questions paraeducators actually ask

Can I actually pass using the free tools here?
Yes. Every practice session includes real ETS format questions, pass probability after every run, full explanations, and category breakdowns. No credit card to start. Create a free account when you want saved progress and smarter review.
How does this exam differ from the old ParaPro?
The new ETS 5757 test replaces ParaPro on September 1, 2026. It splits into two separately scored halves: Reading and Writing (5758, passing 332) and Math (5759, passing 334). Math now has an on screen calculator. Scaled scores run 310 to 350. See our full transition guide.
How many questions are on the exam?
87 total. 51 on Reading and Writing (85 minutes), 36 on Math (60 minutes). You will see four kinds of questions: standard multiple choice, multi select where you pick two of five, math problems where you type the number, and grammar questions where you click the underlined error. Roughly 1 in 3 questions test how you would handle a classroom situation, not just what you know.
Is there a calculator?
Yes, on the Math half only. The on screen calculator has the standard 4 functions plus memory, square root, and a Transfer Display button that pastes your answer into the numeric entry box. No calculator during Reading and Writing. Our practice tool uses the identical calculator, so exam day will not be your first time touching it.
How much does the exam cost?
$55 at a Prometric test center or $85 for the at home proctored option. Many districts pay the fee for current or new hire paraeducators, so check with HR before you register. Your score is valid for 10 years. See our exam day checklist for what to bring and expect.
What if I fail?
You retake. The score report tells you exactly which categories cost you points, so your second attempt has a target. Use our weak area tracker to build a focused plan and confirm your state's cut score at our passing score guide before you re register.
How does pass probability work?
It is your estimated likelihood of passing based on your accuracy per category, weighted to match how each category appears across the 87 questions on the real exam. Updates after every session; create a free account to keep your history across devices. Not an official ETS metric, but an honest number to track progress.
