How the scale works Your raw score (number of correct answers) is converted to a scaled score using a statistical process called equating. This adjusts for differences in difficulty between exam forms, so a score of 332 means the same thing regardless of which version of the test you took. A raw score of approximately 33-35 out of 51 on R&W translates to about 332 scaled, but this varies by exam form. That drift is the detail most sites skip: because the raw cutoff moves a question or two between forms, training to the exact minimum is a gamble. Practice until you clear your target with 3 or 4 correct answers to spare.

Yes, you receive separate scaled scores for R&W and Mathematics, and you must meet the passing threshold on each subtest independently. A high Math score cannot compensate for a low R&W score. Some states accept partial passage (one subtest at a time) for certain paraeducator roles, check with your state DOE.

ParaPathways scores are valid for 10 years from your test date. Your official score report is available in your ETS account approximately 2-3 weeks after you test. Score reports can be sent directly to school districts through ETS.

You can retake the exam. Your score report will show which topic areas cost you the most points, take the practice test to pinpoint them and build a focused retake plan. There is no limit on the number of retakes, but ETS requires at least 21 days between attempts, and you only retake the module you did not pass.
